SETI.UK

Team info
Description SETI.UK is a long established distributed computing team which began as a SETI@home team.

Anybody is welcome to join our teams across the BOINC range of projects.

Remember to join our team on each individual BOINC project you are participating in.

These are the current active projects in which our team has a presence:

#Amicable Numbers ¦ Join Team
'Amicable numbers' are pairs where the sum of the proper divisors of each is equal to the other number. The goal of this project is to collect all amicable numbers up to a very large limit.

#Asteroids@home ¦ Join Team
The aim of the project is to derive shapes and spin for a significant part of the asteroid population. As input data, any asteroid photometry that is available is used. The results are asteroid convex shape models with the direction of the spin axis and the rotation period.

#climateprediction.net ¦ Join Team
Investigate the approximations that have to be made in state-of-the-art climate models. By running the model thousands of times find out how the model responds to slight tweaks to these approximations - slight enough to not make the approximations any less realistic. This will improve understanding of how sensitive models are to small changes and also to things like changes in carbon dioxide and the sulphur cycle. This will allow the exploration of how climate may change in the next century under a wide range of different scenarios.

#Einstein@Home ¦ Join Team
Search for weak astrophysical signals from spinning neutron stars (often called pulsars) using data from the LIGO gravitational-wave detectors, the Arecibo radio telescope, and the Fermi gamma-ray satellite.

#Gerasim@Home ¦ Join Team
Testing and comparison of heuristic methods for getting separations of parallel algorithms working in the CAD system for designing logic control systems.

#GPUGRID ¦ Join Team
Opens novel computational scenarios by the first full-atom molecular dynamics code (CellMD) specially optimized to run on NVIDIA GPUs. New biomedical applications suddenly become possible giving a new role to computational biology for biomedical research.

#iThena ¦ Join Team
Experimental mapping of network structures included in the Internet.

#latinsquares (ODLK1) ¦ Join Team
ODLK is building a database of canonical forms of diagonal Latin squares of the 10th order.

#LHC@home ¦ Join Team
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is a particle accelerator at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, the world's largest particle physics laboratory. It is the most powerful instrument ever built to investigate on particles proprieties. LHC@home runs simulations to improve the design of LHC and its detectors.

#MilkyWay@Home ¦ Join Team
To create a highly accurate three dimensional model of the Milky Way galaxy using data gathered by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.

#Minecraft@Home ¦ Join Team
Enables the study of the fundemental laws of Minecraft to answer unanswered questions regarding the features and true limits of the game.

#MLC@Home ¦ Join Team
A distributed computing project dedicated to understanding and interpreting complex machine learning models, with an emphasis on neural networks.

#Moo! Wrapper ¦ Join Team
Run applications from distributed.net.

#nanoHUB@Home ¦ Join Team
Provides computing power to users of the nanoHUB portal for nanoscience.

#NFS@home ¦ Join Team
A research project that uses computers to do the lattice sieving step in the Number Field Sieve factorization of large integers.

#NumberFields@home ¦ Join Team
Searches for fields with special properties. The primary application of this research is in the realm of algebraic number theory. Number theorists can mine the data for interesting patterns to help them formulate conjectures about number fields. Ultimately, this research will lead to a deeper understanding of the profound properties of numbers, the basic building blocks of all mathematics.

#ODLK ¦ Join Team
ODLK is building a database of canonical forms of diagonal Latin squares of the 10th order.

#PrimeGrid ¦ Join Team
Multiple projects searching for different forms of very large prime numbers, including searching for the largest known prime number.

#Quake-Catcher Network Sensor Monitoring ¦ Join Team
Uses strong-motion seismic sensors in schools, museums, libraries, and other education environments across the United States to provide a way for learners to engage with seismic data collected around them.

#QuChemPedIA@home ¦ Join Team
To constitute a large collaborative open platform that will solve and store quantum molecular chemistry results. Also to radically change the approach developing artificial intelligence and optimization methods in order to explore efficiently the highly combinatorial molecular space. You will help chemical researchers around the world by building a unique collection of results.

#Radioactive@Home ¦ Join Team
Creating a free and continuously updated map of radiation levels using sensors connected to volunteers' computers. You must buy a sensor to participate.

#Rake search ¦ Join Team
The enormous size of the diagonal Latin squares space makes it unfeasible to enumerate all its objects straightforwardly in reasonable time. So, in order to discover the structure of this space, sophisticated search methods are needed. Pick up separate pairs of mutually orthogonal DLSs, allowing reconstruction of full graphs of orthogonality.

#Ralph@home ¦ Join Team
The official alpha test project for Rosetta@home. New application versions, work units, and updates in general tested here before being used for production.

#RNA World ¦ Join Team
Seeks to identify, analyze, structurally predict and design RNA molecules on the basis of established bioinformatics software.

#Rosetta@home ¦ Join Team
Determine the 3-dimensional shapes of proteins in research that may ultimately lead to finding cures for some major human diseases. Help to speed up and extend research. Help in efforts at designing new proteins to fight diseases such as COVID-19, HIV, malaria, cancer, and Alzheimer's.

#SRBase ¦ Join Team
A mathematical research project that uses Internet-connected computers trying to solve Sierpinski / Riesel Bases up to 1030.

#T.Brada Experimental Grid ¦ Join Team
Various projects.

#TN-Grid ¦ Join Team
A platform that does research in various scientific projects.

#Universe@Home ¦ Join Team
Aims to create the first database of the simulated stellar content of the Universe, from the earliest stars to the most exotic black hole binaries.

#WEP-M+2 Project ¦ Join Team
A research project that does research in number theory.

#World Community Grid ¦ Join Team
To further critical non-profit research on some of humanity's most pressing problems. Research includes HIV-AIDS, cancer, tropical and neglected diseases, solar energy, clean water and many more.

#WUProp@Home ¦ Join Team
A non-intensive project which collects workunit properties of BOINC projects such as computation time, memory requirements, checkpointing interval or report limit.

#YAFU ¦ Join Team
An alpha project, which main goal is to test the latest BOINC server code for bugs. Also to factorize numbers up to 140 digit length which are needed to bring Aliquot Sequences to a size of at least 140. Finally to test the latest versions of yafu.
