High error rate on 'Loneliest Seed' tasks for older GPUs
(Message 1262)
Posted 8 May 2025 by mikey Post: But unlike minecraft@home, PrimeGrid will run down to Fermi GPUs (400 series) But Prime Grid still has tasks that support them, unlike Minecraft which by comparison is just a baby so doesn't have the legacy support. There is no Boinc Programmer that Projects share, so what one Project knows, ie PG, if other Projects don't ask and get a positive response there is no sharing of the intel. It's alot like the glibc problem LLMentorGrid fell into as they used the latest version of glibc which only came with the latest versions of Linux, so ALOT of people were left out. |

Posted 13 Apr 2025 by mikey Post: Hey boysanic. If you need help on how to implement badges maybe you could reach out to some admin of another project such as Primegrid. They should know how to do that. I believe Richard Haselgrove is the go to guy for things like that, you can reach him thru the Official Boinc channels that you Admins have available to you, or a PM if he is crunching here. |

Posted 30 Mar 2025 by mikey Post: Hi Steve, It starts with you exporting the stats to a file, then making that file publicly downloadable in a certain folder where the stats sites will grab it and import it into the stats. The problem is I don't know any more than that ie what kind of file or the actual folder to put it in. You can chose how often to run the stats on your system, some projects do it multiple times per day while other projects only do it once per day. |

Posted 12 Jan 2025 by mikey Post: I have created a comparison list with the credits achieved per second by my graphics card. Compared to even the currently worst project, it is still 50% lower. If you are in it for the credits stay with the higher producing Projects and leave the rest for those of us that don't care about credits anymore.. |

Posted 6 Jul 2020 by mikey Post: Hey Mikey! I see we've both cut back on our crunching a bit. Oh yeah Summer is killing my electric bill so my gpu's are only on enough to try new, for me, projects like this one and to maintain enough rac to post. I took all my gpu's off line but added about 30 cpu's core and still cut the electric bill by over $100US last month, the a/c units are running much less right now. |
