Does this projects have WU’s for the Apple Silicon GPU cores?

No.

Because there is no application for M4 Apple SIlicon Mac Mini for the current 1.20 Find seeds with zero villages within a radius sub-project.

You need a developer that understands exactly what the code in the app is doing. Then you need to have them optimize the app with them being a CUDA wiz.

Only developer I know of capable of this is Petri33. And he is busy right now optimizing the Einstein CUDA apps. Maybe afterwards, he might be persuaded to take a crack at the Minecraft app.

Post:
Boinc host error detection isn't working. The code is supposed to only give one task every 24 hours until a task is successfully returned valid, whereupon it will issue two tasks, then double for every valid returned result. But it's broken on that host.
25) Message boards : Number crunching : Very low credits per task (Message 978)

Post:
Other projects have no issues adjusting credits per task when new types of work are released. Doesn't cause any issues with the projects science results.

Hi Folks,

For those of you getting that ptxas error, it's most likely because your Nvidia driver is out of date.

I compiled against CUDA 12.6 (roughly equating to driver 560+) but many of you don't seem to have installed Nvidia driver versions higher than 535.

That said, I did see driver 565 is available on Ubuntu 20.04.

Regardless, this is something we needed to have configured on our end to notify you via the client about this driver version minimum.

I'll update that shortly. Let me know if anyone sees any issues with updating your drivers.

Thanks!

Most hosts on Ubuntu 22 or 24 have default 535 drivers provided by the distros, that's why.

Why don't you compile the app to cover a range of cards and driver versions?

Wow, double bummer indeed. Well guess it was nice while it lasted. Will move back to my traditional gpu projects.

PM the admin Neil and ask him.

I agree the response in the Log Event should at least tell what the minimum is if it is going to complain you don't have that.

Installing the CUDA toolkit is your problem. You shouldn't have done that. The toolkit installs its own CUDA only driver which overrides everything else. It never includes OpenCL, why would it. Its a competing platform.

There is no need to ever install a CUDA toolkit unless you are a developer. The standard Nvidia drivers ALWAYS includes a run-time version of CUDA that works for all applications.

Did you install the standalone CUDA drivers for some reason? Or did you just update the normal system Nvidia drivers?
I have never heard of standard package Windows drivers NOT include the OpenCL drivers. On Linux, yes that happens or has happened frequently in the past.

Those are rather old. I think most projects require minimum 418 version drivers.

Why not update to the latest? The 470 series is running quite well.

And most projects only use OpenCL applications which can run on quite old drivers.

These are proper CUDA applications which use the full horsepower of Nvidia cards.
