How are the credits calculated? |

It's variable based on your actual computation time (not run-time). If you look at people's results you should be able to get a rough idea of the credit issued. |

And it pays very poorly in comparison to other GPU projects. |

And it pays very poorly in comparison to other GPU projects. Unlike some other projects, we believe in a level playing field and do not make any changes to the credit calculations which are provided stock by BOINC. It is 200 credits per gigaFLOP day, this will not change. |

And it pays very poorly in comparison to other GPU projects. Don't know if this has been the default value for BOINC the whole time, but considering how fast computing power is doubling, one actually is earning the same credit in much less time. Plus this this basically a for-fun project. We're not studying disease or the cosmos or doing AI work. Really just a bunch of geeks who threw out a project because they wanted they find out some things about a rather popular game and they are getting other geeks onboard to help out. ;) |

We're all about credit and run-time stats. It really doesn't matter the goal of the projects for most of us. And for BOINC crunchers, this is serious business. Cost of entry and cost of energy is critical. So those credits and time spent per task are important. Reno, NV Team: SETI.USA |

Fair enough, it is your project. I just hit the 10M milestone so with the credit pay out that means I've reached my lifetime goal. To me it isn't worth the heat and the electricity bill to run the project. My personal opinion, others view it differently but I'm moving elsewhere. |

I get that. Some projects artificially inflate the number of credits they offer per task, we don't want to do that. |
