I have created a comparison list with the credits achieved per second by my graphics card. Compared to even the currently worst project, it is still 50% lower. Numberfield get 1.02 Cr/sec Amicable get 97,6 Cr/sec Einstein get 18,01 Cr/sec GPUGrid get 32,4 uo to 229 Cr/sec SRBase get 88,1 Cr/sec Gerasim get 36,9 Cr/sec Private GFN Server get 7,6 Cr/sec Here is what you give us: 0,434 Cr/sec |

If you are in it for the credits stay with the higher producing Projects and leave the rest for those of us that don't care about credits anymore.. ![]() |

A halfway reasonable loan should be possible without any problems. |

A halfway reasonable loan should be possible without any problems. Wish I could as the guy ahead of me, #3 on the list, is pulling away from me at the rate of 10 Million credits per day, so there's no point in even trying to catch him at this point. |

Doesn't hurt to ask 😀 I agree and truth be told the credits ARE very low for these tasks for the amount of time they take to crunch!! ![]() |

I have to admit that I had an error in my database due to incorrect input into the system. Minecraft does not deliver around 0.434 Cr/sec but 2.62 Cr/sec. Which is still very, very little. |

Doesn't hurt to ask 😀 +1. I look at this in terms of power consumption (in watts) or total work energy consumed (in kWhr or in joules). Funny is that back in Sep of last year, we got rewarded 2500 points per cpu thread which probably consumes a few watts of power only per thread and completed each task in a few hundred seconds. With the gpu task, you still get 2500 points per gpu but it consumes a lot more power than a single cpu thread and still run more than a few thousand seconds per task for majority of the cards here. Clearly there is no "equal pay for equal work", lol. |

Hey everyone, We've historically used the same credits amount for each task regardless of the task. My concern is that if we did change this, either we're recalculating everyone's credit totals in an unsupported way from the BOINC project's perspective and replacing the credit amounts in the workunits, or we're only replacing credit values in workunits that have not yet been assigned. There are drawbacks to both ways. If we did recalculate everyone's credit values, credits will inflate massively compared to the past ~5 years. There's also the chance that doing something unsupported like this will cause further issues. If we only update future credit totals for this project, people who have run work for the project may feel their work was valued less. If we took a value like 150 credits/sec, using my system as a baseline, a single task would produce ~330,000 credits. So 1 new task would be worth the same as 132 old tasks. As an alternative, based on runtime we could give workunits a value of ~46,000 credits, reflecting that on my system a CPU workunit took ~2 minutes and a GPU workunit today is taking ~37 minutes. I'm open to hear your thoughts about this. I don't mean to make you feel like you're not getting credit out of your work, but I feel there's unlikely to be a solution everyone's happy with |

I don't know if you've had pure GPU tasks here yet. But I could imagine that the pure CPU tasks will continue to get 2500 Cr and the pure GPU tasks will get five times that or so. |

You can look up old task from 2021 in the tasks browser. Other projects have no issues adjusting credits per task when new types of work are released. Doesn't cause any issues with the projects science results. |

Hi everyone, I have updated future workunits for this project to award 50,000 credits per task. Any that are currently running will remain at 2500 to avoid inconsistency issues with existing completed tasks or in progress tasks. Please let me know if you notice any issues. Thanks! |

Hi boysanic When will these new WUs with the significantly better credits be distributed? This year? If you see how many participants are currently working on them and how many WUs are on the server, you can roughly calculate how long it will take. I estimate around 270 to 330 days. But I'm not going to wait for that. I'll stop calculating for Minecraft as soon as I've completed the 100 hours on WU-Prop |

Just my speculation, maybe the higher credit reward will attract more participants and clear the backlog quicker. Anyway, did a quick search and see some tasks already credited with 50,000 points. https://minecraftathome.com/minecrafthome/workunit.php?wuid=5093552 https://minecraftathome.com/minecrafthome/workunit.php?wuid=5094172 Not too sure what's the process like. |

The new tasks are not new. I simply updated the existing tasks that have not yet been assigned to a host yet. Any task you retrieve from the server from the point I sent that post onward will award 50,000 credits. I did not update tasks that are currently running on computers to avoid inconsistencies. Thanks |

I should clarify. Any task you retrieve from the server which is not validating another, currently running/ran on another host task will award 50,000. For example, if someone else already ran a task for your workunit, and they received that task prior to the change, that task will award 2500. If nobody has ran a task for your workunit, or they received the task after the update, that task will award 50,000. This is to avoid a problem where the tasks matching a workunit have mismatched credit values. (Both workunit and task store credit values individually. The workunit informs the task on what the value should be when it's assigned) Hope this helps. |
